They auditioned for JYP through auditions held in Japan or got scouted and happily made it in the final cut of the group. Tzuyu also is a foreigner - she’s from Taiwan, hence the unusual name. What is TWICE famous for? TWICE, sometimes even called "the nation's girl group", definitely made an impact not only in South Korea but also overseas. Their very distinct music style surrounding love-themed songs and cutesy, girly concepts is what most fans associate with them and it’s what made them stand out. They are very true to their concepts, always showing their commitment while on stage with new songs. Comeback that made them rise to domestic fame in South Korea is the single “Cheer Up''. It charted at number one on the Gaon Digital Chart, won "Song of the Year" (at the Melon Music Awards and Mnet Asian Music Awards) and became the best-performing single of the year 2016.
